A testimony by Hope Elliott - Feb 5, 2009 I have to share this testimony because it gives Glory to God, and it illustrates the scripture,
"To Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above whatever we may ask or think…"
Just a few days ago I would wake up in the middle of the night and get on the internet to try to find a room or small apartment to rent. I had been blessed to stay with friends upon my recent return to Florida, but it was time for me to move on and have my own space. The issue was that I had not secured a steady income yet, and how many landlords are into trusting that you'll pay your rent "somehow"?
I was asked to attend a seminar in place of some colleagues of mine; they had a schedule conflict, and the seminar was something I was interested in - how to become a self-published author. The seminar was truly invigorating, and was more like a support group than an information session - people were networking and encouraging each other all day.
At the end of the seminar, the host did something very unusual - she asked if there were any people who wanted to stay behind for personal prayer. I was up there - asking for a Word from the Lord for my personal situation. The prophet who prayed with me ended by saying that I should be expecting a "surprise" from the Lord, and that I should not question it, just obey.
Needless to say, I left her presence in a stupor when I was approached by another participant of the seminar. She told me that she wanted to talk to me about grants. I tried to find some tissue to wipe my face and be more presentable when she said this to me: "Woman of God, I have heard from the Lord, and He wants me to sow into your life - what concerns you?" Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather at that point!
The floodgates of tears that I tried to hold back came rushing forth. I repeated my dilemma to her and she just smiled. Then she told me that she does property management and that she can work something out with me.
The next day, I met this Angel of the Lord outside a development in a part of Florida I had never seen before, (but not far from Disney!). She showed me a fully furnished, 4 bedroom house with an enclosed pool - which I will be renting for $500 per month! I am here to remind you that my God is still in the miracle working business!
